Mental Health

Our project hopes to provide a solution to those who may be struggling with their emotions after interacting with Social Media. Social Media has become a big part of everyone's lives, as too has Mental Health. We developed an application, Thrive Theory, that is targeted at young adults that utilize Social Media and may need more assistance with processing their emotions. Through Thrive Theory, users can schedule a therapy appointment, chat with others about various problems regarding Social Media, and receive guidance from Artificial Intelligence based on the situation they are dealing with.

Our Project

Thrive Theory is an application that will provide guidance based on the situation users are dealing with in regards to Social Media. Throughout our research, we have found that Social Media has made people feel a wide range of emotions. Whether those emotions may be Sadness, Anxiety, Anger, etc. Artificial Intelligence will be utilized to provide relevant guidance tailored to their situation. However, some situations may need more than guidance provided by AI, thus we also provide the ability to schedule a Therapy appointment with a professional if they so desire.

Despite the main point of Thrive Theory being an application to provide guidance tailored to the user, it is also a platform to view other articles regarding mental health. Some users may simply have an interest in a variety of mental health topics, thus they may find other articles of interest outside of relevant guidance for themselves. On top of this, suggesting related articles to the user's situation may help with other problems they may be dealing with.

In addition to having places to schedule therapy sessions, receive guidance on mental health, and read various mental health articles, we provide another place to discuss with others about certain social media applications along with reviewing them. As some social media platforms may cause problems for users emotionally, we hope that our platform will provide a space for users to express their concerns with different social media applications as well as review them. Through these discussions and reviews, our users can come to their own conclusion as to which social media platform may be better for them to use.
