Our Project
In order to address growing carbon emissions, we designed an app to help college students and working adults track their carbon footprint. After gathering information about the user's daily habits, our app suggests achievable goals that help reduce carbon output. In addition to personalized recommendations, users can create their own challenges and race against friends to complete them. Leafy allows students to effectively minimize their carbon emission while using peer competitions to keep them engaged. Each of the tasks a user completes gains them points to increase their score on the leaderboards and put them ahead of their friends. Minimizing individual carbon emissions is a small task that keeps our planet healthy, and impacts the community.
LinkBig Points
- Climate Change Focus: Our application emphasizes the urgent need for action against climate change, aiming to engage Gen Z users in reducing their carbon footprint through incentivized tracking methods.
- Empowering Collective Action: Recognizing the critical role of collective efforts in combating climate change, our app aims to mobilize and unite users, especially the younger generation, to collectively make meaningful contributions towards sustainability through competition in completing challenges.
- Behavioral Change: Providing a convenient and incentivizing method to track carbon footprints can drive tangible behavioral changes among users, leading to long-term reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and environmental impact.
