Privacy & Security

We want to address the issue of the lack of privacy the average online user has when interacting with systems necessary to daily function on the internet. We want to create a platform that allows anyone to see where their information is and how they can better control it. Our platform is in the form of a website that will allow users to have full control of learning more about how their data is used.

Our Project

Our main goal of our project was to help increase privacy and security for people online. We went about this by creating a website that gives you quick helpful tips on ways to keep your information safer online. The website also gives you the option to be able to type in some websites you've used recently or other popular websites and see what information of yours they have and how they have gotten it. Along with our website we have made a web extension that you can use and will automatically tell you how safe a website will be just at a quick glance rather than having to do research on the website beforehand.

Big Points

  • Our key stakeholders are users that are 18 to 40 years old that are concerned about their online privacy.
  • This will be used on laptops and desktops as we have made a website and web extension.
